Dr. Ajay Rao is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon. His main field of interest being trauma, reconstruction and arthroplasty of shoulder and knee. He is a consulting orthopaedic surgeon at Sita Bhateja hospital and Nava Chethana hospital.He is a visiting consultant at Panacea hospital, Punya hospital and Fortis hospital (Rajajinagar). Dr. Rao obtained his M.B.B.S from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences and pursued his orthopedic training at Madras Medical College, earning his D.N.B in Orthopedics in 2008. Notable mentors during his training include Prof. Mayil Vahanan Natarajan and Dr. K. Srinivasan at Manipal Hospital and Columbia Asia Hospital in Bangalore, where he gained extensive experience in arthroplasty of the hip and knee and complex trauma. In addition to his foundational training, Dr. Rao pursued specialized fellowships in Australia from 2011 to 2013. He completed the Australian Orthopedic Association accredited fellowship program in Upper Limb at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Brisbane, and Epworth Hospital, Melbourne. Moreover, he underwent training in shoulder, elbow, and wrist arthroscopy, arthroplasty, and trauma surgeries. Dr. Rao also completed a fellowship in Hip and Knee arthroplasty and knee reconstruction at the Centre for Bone and Joint Surgery, Gold Coast, Australia, refining his skills in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgeries and knee reconstruction. Dr. Rao is a notable contributor to the field, having presented papers at state and national conferences and providing valuable input to the VOTOR registry in Victoria. He is an esteemed member of the Indian Orthopedic Association and ISKSAA (International Society for Knowledge of Knee and Shoulder Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty).
